Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

About the Course

Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline that involves the application of the principles of physics for the analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is concerned with the design, construction, installation, commissioning, and operation of industries, power stations, engines, and machines. Keeping in view, the growing demand for mechanical engineering, the Institute has fully equipped Labs, ED halls, and Workshops well furnished with the latest machines enabling students to gain technical knowledge under the expert supervision of a competent faculty assisted by experienced technicians.

Career Prospects

Mechanical engineering is one of the highest employment generators among all the engineering streams. Mechanical engineers have always been in demand and are at the forefront of technological innovation. They will continue to lead the world by making significant contributions to manufacturing, energy generation, transportation, waste management, health, and the environment. Due to the widespread usage of machinery and technology, mechanical engineers can find employment almost anywhere in the world. A mechanical engineering graduate can choose a career in Automation, Production, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Reverse Engineering, Power Generation, Nuclear Reactors, Air-conditioning Equipments, Aircraft Engines, Electrical and Transportation Equipment, Refineries, and Automobiles manufacturing Industries.

Mechanical Department has a well-maintained workshop furnished with the latest machines and types of equipment like Lathes, Milling, Drilling, Shaper, Grinding Machines and TIG and MIG Welding Equipment, etc. to cater effectively to the requirement of the courses in all the branches of engineering. The workshop is divided into various sections like Machine Shop, Carpentry and Pattern Making Shop, Foundry Shop, and Welding Shop. The workshop is under the charge of experienced technicians who not only assist students in various experiments but also provide their expertise to the learners and ensure their safety.
